This show, which has been just one of the latest victims of corporate greed, has been cancelled. It was brilliantly written, moving, and thought provoking. The show had values that we just don’t see associated with any of these useless reality shows and game shows.
It would really make us sit down and talk about the possibility of a terrible act of terrorism as witnessed on “Jericho” actually happening in our lifetime. To look at the current situation our country is in you can see how forces within and abroad would love to cripple our current power structure.
With so many other useless shows on network TV do we really want to let something with such substance be tossed away. I’ve read so many of the other submissions and can’t help but agree. Too many CSI’s, Too many Reality shows, Too many stupid game shows. The sad part is the majority of them are on network television. Look at the stations that are growing the fastest ( FX, etc….) They are willing to gamble on shows you’d never see on network television and they are reaping the benefits.
And as a kick in the teeth, this was supposed to be an ‘official’ response:
CBS retain the full viewing rights to Jericho, and it is possible that a a finale episode could be put into planning for the 2009/2010 season.
A future decision will be made on this in the fall of 2008.
Despite this cancelation we would like to advise you the viewer that CBS offers many great Shows such as CSI-Miami as well as others.
I for one will not be watching another CBS show again.
